What's the most important thing you need when you travel? Luggage of course. If you don't have the right bag, gear or accessories, you surely won’t have a perfect trip? This shopping guide introduces you to our range of high-quality luggage with tips on what to pack for your trip. Read on to find out more.

(1) What to look for in a suitcase

Remarks
Outer casing
  • Hard shell: Mostly made of plastic or aluminium and magnesium metals. It can effectively prevent cracks and cuts so your valuables won't break inside.
  • Softshell: Mostly made of fabric or leather, it is lighter and easier to carry, so it doesn't feel heavy. Softshell luggage is mainly single-sided, making it easy to access your belongings.
Open and shut
  • Zippered suitcases are lighter and more flexible, so you can take out your belongings without having to lay the suitcase flat. Great in narrow spaces.
  • Aluminium-framed suitcases are heavier, but have security locks that are not easy to break into, making this type of suitcase safer and more secure than zippered suitcases.
Dimensions
  • 16”-20" Suitable for 1-3 day trips
  • 22”-26" Suitable for 4-7 day trips
  • 28”-31” Suitable for long trips
Wheels
  • Two to eight wheels are available. Luggage with fewer wheels offers better manoeuvrability, but can be difficult to lug around when the luggage is heavy. On the other hand, luggage with more wheels is less mobile, but easier to mange when the suitcase is heavy.
Boarding size
  • If you want to choose a suitcase as carry-on baggage when travelling by air, be aware of the restrictions imposed by different airlines.

Long trips to Europe, the US and snow vacations

The front-opening suitcase is convenient for storing larger items (electrical appliances, gift boxes, shoe boxes, etc.). It only needs to be opened to one side and takes up less space when packing. The top cover stores fewer items and can be opened easily (compared to the middle-opening model, which has a large amount of items on both sides and is more difficult to open). The front-opening suitcase has a relatively traditional design because the opening and closing position is in the middle, leaving empty space in the trunk when closed, while front-opening can fully utilize the space. The design of the cabinet bucket is also convenient for packing, and things are not easy to scatter. It is not easy to touch the wheels when opening to avoid contaminating your hands.

The following luggages can be used for mainland short trip:

If you don't want to have any incidents or inconveniences during your trip, besides having a great suitcase, you need some travel gear to organise everything to make your trip a smooth one.

An additional lock for double protection.

You don’t want to have bags of stuff with you. We've all experienced pushing a suitcase with one hand, carrying passport documents and airline tickets with the other, and sometimes carrying a jacket in case it gets cold on the plane which can be a real turn-off. Get yourself a carry-all for smaller itmes you may need, so you’ve still got one hand free to hold onto your partner. But remember, you are responsible for unchecked luggage. If you leave a bag behind by accident after you have entered a restricted area, you can't ask someone to get it for you.

There are so many little things you need for travelling, pick your favourite!
