Chinese tea goes perfectly with mooncakes, but you need a nice pot to make a delicious brew. Eating mooncakes and drinking tea enhances the flavour of both and relieves the heavy richness of the mooncakes!
But why not go a little further and get yourself a new blender and a beer maker? The blender helps you manage the ingredients needed to prepare multiple servings of food while the beer maker provides refreshing drinks. Now, everyone is happy!
2. Outdoor equipment
The moon is at its fullest on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month so this is the perfect time to go outdoors and enjoy its brilliance! Besides picnic mats, foldable camping chairs are a good idea. Many are easy to carry and simple to use. Now you can watch the moon and chat with friends all night without feeling tired!
Even though it's Autumn now, the weather is still warm. So, bring along a portable mini fan/neck fan to help ease the heat and make the Mid-Autumn night a more pleasant one.
And when outdoors, it’s likely you’ll encounter mosquitos while admiring the moon especially if you are in a park or close to a lot of vegetation. Bring some mosquito repellent along to solve the issue!
3. Camera
Every year during the Mid-Autumn Festival, many districts organise lantern-viewing events with beautiful decorations, making them popular for sightseeing. Among them are the Tai O Water Lantern Festival, the lantern street at Tai Kiu Market in Yuen Long, the Fire Dragon Dance in Tai Hang, and the Sea of Lanterns in Lei Tung Street in Wan Chai to name a few. Grab the latest camera which offers new functions and upgraded lenses to take amazing photos in different settings.
4. e-games
Should you decide to stay at home during the festival, you can play video/desktop games with family members or friends and still have a fabulous time!
